About
Dominykas Šaudys
Art Collector
Dominykas Šaudys is an art collector specialising in the identification, tracing and acquisition of important works and lost treasures connected to Lithuania and Polish-Lithuanian art history. Over many years, he has successfully located artworks that had remained outside public view and in private collections for decades, with his discoveries and acquisitions contributing to significant museum, institutional and private collections in Lithuania.
The Missing Canvas continues this mission by researching, tracing and locating important artworks whose present whereabouts are unknown, with the aim of acquiring them directly from private collections and preserving works of lasting cultural significance.

The project
Locating important works that have disappeared from public view.
The Missing Canvas focuses on specific artworks that were previously sold at auction or through private transactions and are now believed to be held in private collections.
The aim is straightforward: to identify the present owner, establish contact discreetly, and, where possible, acquire the work directly.
The project also actively acquires works by selected Lithuanian, Polish-Lithuanian and related artists, with particular interest in historically significant works and portraits connected to the region.
