The artwork

Portret męski, traditionally attributed to Adam Szemesz (1808–1864), was offered by DESA Unicum in Warsaw on 14 December 2000 as Lot 41.

The painting is oil on canvas, measuring 71 × 60.6 cm. The auction record notes that it came from the artist's family collection. Information concerning conservation and a biography of the artist was recorded on the reverse and stretcher.

The work was unsold, with a starting price of 12,000 PLN. Its present whereabouts are unknown.
