The artwork

Portrait of Józefa née Kierska Moraczewska was painted in 1816 by Daniel Kondratowicz (1765–1844), a Warsaw painter who studied under Franciszek Smuglewicz. The work is recorded in the Artinfo archive as Lot 65.

The portrait is oil on relined canvas and measures 65.5 × 54.5 cm. A handwritten note attached to the stretcher identifies the sitter as Józefa née Kierska Moraczewska, wife of Tomasz Moraczewski, owner of the Zielątkowo estate. The auction record also notes that the painting had undergone conservation.
