A Portrait of a Lady Reading by was sold at Sotheby's, London, on 22 February 1995 as Lot 40.

The signed and dated oil on canvas measures 35 × 28 cm. It sold for £2,300 including buyer's premium (approximately €2,854), against an estimate of £2,000–£3,000.

The work was illustrated on page 13 of the auction catalogue. Its present whereabouts are unknown.
